 Snakehandler has a range of Handling Equipment available for purchase. We only sell equipment which we ourselves use for snake catching, and all equipment can be freighted anywhere in Australia.

 Gentle Giant Tongs TM $180
Imported from America, these are the only tongs Snakehandler sells and recommends. "Triple rubber coated top jaw creates drag on the top of the snake's body for secure holding. Lower jaw is polished which creates a smooth surface, reducing snake's ability of forward motion.
Constructed from blue aircraft grade aluminium tubing featruing a concealed stainless steel cable and spring.
With a 57mm wide gentle grip that disperses pressure over a greater surface area of the snake's body, eliminating the possibility of direct pressure between individual ribs. This also reduces the risk of musculoskeletal injury."
Most other designs are modified rubbish tongs, and can cause huge amounts of injury to the animal. These tongs have been assessed by 2 Animal Ethics Committee's and approved as a method of snake control.
Elapid Hook $45
Hand made and designed by The Snakehandler Team, this hook is one continuous piece incorporating the shaft, hook and handle into one.
Where previous designs have the hook as a separate piece, which after time and exposure to heat (namely in the back of the car for a few weeks during catching season!) can separate and spin in the shaft, Snakehandler designed hooks cannot as they are one whole piece! Constructed of high grade stainless steel rod, they will not rust!

These bags are also made and designed by Snakehandler, to our requirements. These include hot and cold areas and red tags to indicate danger. They are constructed from calico, to allow for airflow, and ease of cleaning.
PVC Restraining Tubes $85
Imported from America, this 10 piece set of tubes comes with 2 end caps to keep your tubes together.
Good for catching and removing trapped snakes from bird netting, cans and any other restrictive material, while keeping the handler safe and away from the bitey end.
Also good for herpetologists in private collections for close inspection of individuals, including minor veterinary work.
Snake Bite First Aid Kit $15
NEW! Snakehandler now have our own Snake Bite First Aid Kits for sale. These include a large wide bandage, first aid instructions and a pen all conveniently kept inside a pouch designed to be worn on a belt or to fit in a pack or glove box. These can be posted for just $5.

Python Hooks $45
Made from the same design as the Snakehandler Elapid hook, these have one continuous piece of stainless steel rod, incorporating the handle, shaft and hook in one, so they cannot separate. Designed to be carried in the back of work vehicles we make them tough to last the distance!
Freight $45
This is for most places around Australia, freighted to your door. The freight charge is for The Gentle Giant Tongs, as they are above the maximum length for postage.
Hooks, bags and tubes can be posted to your location, POA.
