Venomous Snake Handling

Handling venomous snakes is a highly dangerous concept from the beginning.� This 2 day course is designed to help people who wish to learn how to catch and relocate reptiles.

The following units will be covered in this course:

  • Provide Information on the Nature of Reptiles.
  • Conform to Legislative and OH&S Requirements in Snake Handling
  • Provide Advice For Snake Bite Prevention & Demonstrate First Aid
  • Identify Snakes
  • Handle Reptiles

This is the only course in Australia that is Recognised by the Department of Education, Employment & Workplace Relations, and can be found on the NTIS (National Training Information Service) Database.� This course has created the Australian Standard in Training and Handling of Reptiles and as such successful completion provides the only Qualification available in Venomous Snake Handling.

The course and trainers must adhere to 12 nationally recognised education and training standards and must be overseen by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).

This is one of the few courses recognized by D.S.E (Department of Sustainability and Environment) and Parks & Wildlife to train people how to relocate Venomous snakes.

This course has also been assessed by 2 Animal Ethics Committees and has been approved for every technique utilized and taught.� Sean has a Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment & Training and is also an experienced teacher meaning he can teach the complexities of the course in a way which is easy to follow and understand.

Course Cost: $450 per person

This includes a comprehensive training manual and RTO accredited certificate.

All participants must be 18 years or older (absolutely no exceptions)

We only conduct General Public courses in Melbourne. Should you wish to attend a course but are from another state you either need to travel to Melbourne to attend one of these courses or arrange a group of 10 or more and we will travel to you (Travel costs apply)
